David Morrison focuses his practice in the area of labor and employment. He has significant experience in employment counseling, including supervisory training. He has tried over forty cases and arbitrations and has argued over twenty appeals before the West Virginia Supreme Court and the United States Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit. Mr. Morrison serves as Chair of the firm's Labor Department.

Labor-Management Relations
Mr. Morrison has represented employers in union organizing drives and related representation and unfair labor practice proceedings. He has obtained state and federal court injunctions for unlawful strike activity, negotiated labor agreements, arbitrated labor disputes, and litigated to enforce or to set aside arbitration awards.
Deliberate Intent Claims
In West Virginia, employers that provide workers’ compensation coverage generally enjoy immunity from liability for personal injuries suffered by their employees while at work. However, there is a statutory exception to civil liability immunity in the event that an employer is found to have created conditions from which a jury may find that the employer deliberately placed the employee at risk of injury. Mr. Morrison is experienced in representing employers in these "deliberate intent" cases.
International Law
Labor and employment issues are critical for international businesses since employers must address cultural differences with their employees. He has lectured extensively on the importance of recognizing and appreciating diversity in the work force.

Mr. Morrison is or has been a member of the Board of Trustees and the Executive Committee of Alderson-Broaddus College, President of the Alderson-Broaddus Endowment Corporation, Director of the Harrison County Catholic Schools’ Committee on Academic Progress, a member of the Clarksburg Baptist Church Board of Trustees, a member of the Harrison County Chamber of Commerce, a member of the West Virginia Manufacturers' Association, and a member of the West Virginia Chamber of Commerce. He has been a member of the Board of Directors for the Harrison County Peoples' HOSPICE, the Allocations Committee for the Harrison County United Way, a member of the Board of Directors of the ARC of Harrison County, a member of the Board of Directors of the Harrison County YMCA, and Vice President of the Clarksburg Jerry West Youth Basketball League. Mr. Morrison has also served as Chairman of the Harrison County Student Achievement Association’s Business Committee. He is a member of the Board of Directors of 20/10 Consulting, LLC.
Mr. Morrison is a permanent member of the Fourth Circuit Judicial Conference, a member of the section on Employment Law of the American Bar Association, a member of the Continuing Legal Education and the Employment Law Committees of the West Virginia State Bar, a member of the Supreme Court of the United States, and Trustee and Vice President of the Energy & Mineral Law Foundation. He has served on the Harrison County Bar Association Board of Directors, was an Adjunct Lecturer on Trial Advocacy and an Adjunct Lecturer on pretrial strategies at the West Virginia University College of Law, and has served as the Coach of the West Virginia University College of Law National Moot Court Competition Team.
