Member

David Dick has a unique background of hands-on executive experience, prior to entering the practice of law. For 15 years, Mr. Dick was employed in a number of human resource management positions, both plant site and corporate, at numerous locations by FMC Corporation, a Fortune 150 diversified manufacturer with over $4 billion in sales. Mr. Dick had long-term assignments with responsibility for as many as 2,300 employees and budgets in excess of $7 million in FMC's chemical, food, pharmaceutical, defense, materials handling, and international businesses. Mr. Dick chairs the Workplace Safety Team and the Associates Professional Development Committee.

REPRESENTATIVE EXPERIENCE

  • Defended against numerous OSHA citations in a variety of industries, including alleging violations of blood borne pathogen standards before the Occupational Safety and Health Review Commission
  • Defended numerous charges before the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, West Virginia Human Rights Commission and Pennsylvania Human Relations Commission, alleging race, age, sex, sexual preference, disability and national origin discrimination
  • Negotiated over fifty labor contracts in a variety of industries while maintaining sound relationships with a number of adversaries, including the Teamsters (IBT), Steelworkers (USWA), Electrical Workers (IBEW), Chemical Workers (ICWU), Paperworkers (PACE), Brick and Glass Workers (AFGWU), Service Employees (SEIU) and Food and Commercial Workers (UFCW) unions, all without a work stoppage
  • Resolved unfair labor practice charges and defended employers in numerous arbitration cases in a variety of industries
