David Hammond is experienced in all aspects of high-level transactional work. He focuses his practice in the areas of commercial transactions and real estate. As a former assistant general counsel for a coal company, David has extensive knowledge and experience in matters related to coal, oil, and gas and natural resources.

REPRESENTATIVE EXPERIENCE

  • Represented commercial lending institutions in connection with all aspects of asset-based lending transactions, including structuring complex transactions, preparing loan commitment letters, handling construction financing agreements, preparing multiple lender participation agreements and coordinating multiple state transactions
  • Managed all aspects of commercial real estate development for clients, including structuring public and private financing, resolving land-use issues, preparing real estate and financing documentation and negotiating development and construction agreements
  • Experienced in writing and reviewing real estate title opinions including oil and gas title opinions
  • Represented lenders in connection with troubled loan workout arrangements and handled all aspects of non-judicial real estate foreclosures and Article 9 personal property sales
  • Represented land owners and developers in all types of land-use matters before local planning and zoning commissions and boards of zoning appeals and in circuit court
