Kurt Krieger focuses his practice in the area of energy law with extensive experience representing interstate natural gas pipeline companies and public utilities before the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC). Mr. Krieger has experience with all types of rate-related, rate-making, tariff, pipeline expansion, certificate, complaint, rule-making, and federal agency enforcement proceedings before the FERC. He has developed, implemented and managed a FERC compliance program for interstate natural gas pipeline companies and public utilities, counseled extensively on FERC rate, tariff, and certificate matters, standards of conduct and code of conduct issues, and developed training on numerous FERC-related topics. He has previously counseled clients on coal mine health and safety matters, and federal tax and general business aspects of corporate acquisitions, mergers, reorganizations, and executive compensation.

REPRESENTATIVE EXPERIENCE

  • Represented interstate natural gas pipelines in general and limited rate-case proceedings
  • Represented clients regarding renewable portfolio standards and credits, and siting of renewable energy electric generation facilities
  • Represented interstate natural gas pipelines in rulemaking, tariff, service, expansion, abandonment, and construction certificate matters
  • Represented FERC-regulated companies on numerous FERC enforcement matters, including extensive negotiation experience on matters involving significant penalties
  • Developed, implemented and managed a FERC compliance program for interstate natural gas pipelines and public utilities
