Fred Williams concentrates his practice in tax, business, and public finance matters, as well as government relations. Mr. Williams’ experience includes significant involvement in complex business transactions, preparation of offering documents for both public and private securities offerings, involvement in a variety of economic development projects, appearing before legislative bodies on business and public law matters, drafting legislation on tax and public law matters, extensive representation of public entities in public finance and other matters, and representation of both public and private entities in the structuring and financing of professional sports facilities. Mr. Williams is a certified public accountant.

REPRESENTATIVE EXPERIENCE

  • Served as bond counsel for a major regional hospital in the issuance of bonds to finance a major addition, refinance prior bonds and fund pension liabilities
  • Served as underwriter’s counsel for the restructuring of approximately $330 million of existing and new debt for a major regional hospital chain
  • Served as underwriter’s counsel on the issuance of approximately $150 million of bonds for a major hospital expansion
  • Represented a major resort developer in structuring an Arizona community facilities district to finance infrastructure and other costs associated with a major new resort in Mesa, Arizona
  • Served as lead counsel on the successful structuring of a major research nonprofit’s corporate structure; the restructuring successfully positions the nonprofit to conduct for-profit operations and enter into joint ventures through for-profit subsidiaries
