Marsha Hudkins concentrates her practice in energy and mineral law, and commercial and real estate transactions.

REPRESENTATIVE EXPERIENCE

  • Directed and supervised multiple teams of abstractors in performing mineral title examinations for the purpose of acquisition of minerals, leasing of minerals, permitting for mining/drilling, notice requirements and/or enforcement/acquisition of surface easements, involving in excess of 1000 mineral title reports
  • Closed multiple transactions for the acquisition of over 200 oil and gas wells in West Virginia and Pennsylvania; coordinated and performed due diligence for same
  • Obtained a judicial order for a client to lease the mineral interest of a minor pursuant to West Virginia Statute on Lands of Infants
  • Assisted in the management of a title project for a class action alleging, in part, damages to land and personal injury to landowners from air pollution
  • Advised a client, and successfully enforced the client’s right of way to use a surface estate for ingress/egress for drilling operations
  • Manages and coordinates the Steptoe & Johnson Energy Alert project for the purpose of keeping energy clients informed of recent case decisions and regulations that impact business decisions
