Randy Light focuses his practice in the areas of commercial, corporate, real estate, and natural resources law. Mr. Light advises clients about their choices of business entities and the formation, capitalization, operation, and management of their commercial enterprises. He works with lenders and borrowers in the structuring and collateralization of commercial loans. He is a title insurance agent for two national title insurance companies.

REPRESENTATIVE EXPERIENCE

  • Responsible for real estate issues in the development and financing of a wind-powered electric generating facility in Grant County, West Virginia. The “wind farm” required leases and easements from more than 40 landowners and financing in excess of $300,000,000.00
  • Responsible for the documentation and negotiations for many commercial loans from national banks to borrowers, including a technical consortium, coal companies, oil and gas companies, and timbering operations
  • Assisted client that acquired a private university and converted it to a for-profit educational institution
  • Assisted client with commercial and contract issues for an affiliated company which provides on-line education and financial tracking information for insurance agents and securities brokers
