Bob Pollitt concentrates his practice in the areas of environmental law, focusing on compliance, regulatory, and litigation matters. He represents clients in civil, environmental, and toxic tort litigation and administrative regulatory matters, as well as business transactions focusing on environmental issues. He practices before the state and federal trial courts and the West Virginia Supreme Court of Appeals and various federal appellate courts.
Mr. Pollitt has represented government agencies, mining companies, construction companies, and various other businesses in permitting and administrative and civil enforcement actions in the fields of mining, water resources, solid waste, hazardous waste, medical waste, underground storage tanks, and sanitation issues. Mr. Pollitt has represented insurance companies and insureds in environmental insurance litigation issues. Mr. Pollitt has also represented clients in condemnation, encroachment, and injunction actions.
REPRESENTATIVE EXPERIENCE
- Defended contractors in cases where contractors were accused of faulty installation of service equipment
- Defended various damage, injunction, and condemnation actions related to natural gas pipeline right-of-way acquisition and use
- Negotiated resolution of various environmental issues arising from sales and purchases of various businesses
- Defended companies in various toxic and mass torts (chemical exposures and massive floods allegedly caused by mining and timbering operations)
