Rodney L. Bean maintains a broad employment litigation and counseling practice. He has represented clients in various state and federal trial courts and the United States Courts of Appeals for the Third and Fourth Circuits.  Mr. Bean is leader of the firm’s Labor & Employment Practice Group. 

REPRESENTATIVE EXPERIENCE

  • Received no probable cause determination from Fairfax County (Virginia) Human Rights Commission in national origin discrimination claim.
  • Landmark Supreme Court decision for employer in prevailing wage case - court reversed Department of Labor opinion applying prevailing wage law to employees of state agency
  • Represented a public entity in a disability discrimination case brought by a former firefighter with hemophilia
  • Served as primary outside labor and employment counsel to a major natural gas utility
  • Routinely arbitrates grievances for unionized employers
