Susan Phillips is a trial attorney who has tried numerous cases to juries in both state and federal courts. Additionally, she has argued cases before the West Virginia Supreme Court of Appeals and been actively involved in arbitration and mediation. Ms. Phillips concentrates her practice in the areas of professional liability and personal injury defense. From 2006-2009, she served as the firm’s Pro Bono Director.
REPRESENTATIVE EXPERIENCE
- Negotiated a settlement during a trial for a physician who delivered a healthy infant which died several hours after birth
- Defended multiple long term care facilities in claims involving medical negligence (including, wound development, infection, falls, understaffing and malnutrition) and punitive conduct
