Tim Stranko focuses his practice in the areas of public utility and environmental law, and represents clients in both federal and state venues on a variety of environmental and regulatory matters, including the Clean Water Act and West Virginia public utility law. He has drafted and lobbied into existence major environmental and utility legislation in the West Virginia Legislature.  Mr. Stranko formerly served as general counsel to a municipal water, sewer, and storm water utility.

REPRESENTATIVE EXPERIENCE

  • Drafted and lobbied into existence various West Virginia environmental and utility laws, including storm water and municipal environmental protection statutes
  • Represented a coalition of municipal utilities and public service districts regarding the restoration and protection of the Chesapeake Bay watershed
  • Represented municipalities in the acquisition of public and private waterworks and sewerage systems
  • Represented public and private sector utilities in ratemaking and other regulatory cases before the West Virginia Public Service Commission
