Todd Sarver focuses his practice on the representation of management in all aspects of labor and employment law.  He has extensive experience representing employers in issues arising under the National Labor Relations Act, as well as in labor arbitrations, work stoppages, injunction proceedings, collective bargaining negotiations, corporate campaigns, unfair labor practice proceedings, labor litigation and bankruptcy proceedings.

Mr. Sarver regularly represents employers in litigating claims of discrimination, wrongful termination, The Family Medical Leave Act, The Fair Labor Standards Act, and non-compete agreements.  Mr. Sarver is admitted to practice in the Fifth, Sixth and Seventh Circuits, as well as the Northern and Southern Districts of Ohio, and Eastern District of Michigan.

Mr. Sarver regularly counsels employers regarding complex labor and employment issues relating to reductions in force, plant closings and relocations, hiring practices, compensation and benefit issues, severance agreements, employment agreements, non-compete/non-solicitation agreements, and successorship issues related to acquisitions, divestitures and reorganizations.  He further assists clients on day-to-day labor and human resource issues, as well as with the implementation of corporate labor and employee relations programs, strategies and training.

REPRESENTATIVE EXPERIENCE

  • Represented employers in over 50 arbitration proceedings
  • Represented employers in over 50 representation proceedings including decertifications, unit clarifications and deauthorization petitions
  • Represented major health care company in collective bargaining negotiations for renewal of collective bargaining agreement
  • Represented multiple employers in effects negotiations as a result of plant closures
  • Negotiated successor agreement with union involving employee lease arrangement
