Hank Lawrence focuses his practice on environmental and energy-related litigation. He represents clients before federal, state, and appellate courts and administrative agencies in civil, criminal, and penalty proceedings. In addition, he provides client counseling and advice in permitting, compliance, and transactional matters involving environmental statutes and regulations.  Mr. Lawrence is Department Head of the firm’s Litigation Department.

  • Defended multi-million dollar arbitration claims in coal dispute for contract breach and tortious interference.
  • Sought preliminary and permanent injunction actions to halt interference with major gas transmission pipelines.
  • Jury trial and defense of management officials prosecuted for criminal violations of federal environmental laws.
  • Defense of numerous claims of contamination of property by mineral operations.
  • Sought summary judgment for oil & gas exploration and production company in dispute over ownership of oil & gas rights worth over $70 million
