Bill Galeota devotes his practice to personal injury and commercial litigation, particularly medical professional and hospital liability, commercial disputes, and fiduciary litigation. He has tried a wide variety of civil actions in state and federal district courts and has argued cases at the appellate level.

REPRESENTATIVE EXPERIENCE

  • Represented clients in a dispute over family corporation’s stock and holdings in land and minerals in Western Maryland involving prosecution of civil action seeking declaratory and other relief and involving complex stock redemption, gifting and constructive fraud issues
  • Defended owners of a metal alloys industrial plant in a “deliberate intent” case involving the alleged wrongful death of a worker in a fire
  • Defended a limited liability company and its managing member in suit filed by business tenant claiming fire losses allegedly caused by failure to construct office/warehouse building with proper fire protection measures and failure to purchase insurance coverage on the tenant’s personal property
  • Represented a surgeon in three successive trials and interim appeals of a wrongful death medical malpractice case over 8 years
  • Defended a CPA's service as trustee for an "operating" trust with over $13 million of businesses and assets in the timber, logging and lumber industries, including trial
