Charles Goodin started his legal career as an in-house landman for Exxon in Midland, Texas. He researched title in various courthouses in West Texas and performed curative and negotiated the purchase of leases directly from landowners. He managed brokers buying leases in West Texas and Arkansas. He has a broad base of oil and gas experience having worked the legal aspects of leasing and drilling wells in many prolific basins throughout the country for independent and major oil companies. He also wrote Drilling and Division Order Title Opinions for a Denver-based law firm. His most recent assignment as Vice President, Legal for EnerVest was to defend EnerVest's title to recently acquired producing properties in Ohio in the heart of the Utica Shale play. His primary focus is in energy law with an emphasis on writing Oil and Gas Title Opinions.
