Every fall, the Kentucky Coal Association (KCA) provides all of its members and associate members an opportunity to participate in a sponsorship where they can host a University of Kentucky Football Game tailgate. Basically, the KCA has partnered with the University of Kentucky’s mining and engineering department to bring coal companies and associate members together in a co-sponsorship of a selected pre/post game tailgate gathering at UK’s Commonwealth Stadium.

Over the past few years, these KCA tailgate parties have become quite the coveted marketing opportunity due to the location of the tailgate which generates thousands of people walking by our location. I have attended many of these events being that I am a season football ticket holder myself and I can attest to the fact that their tailgate gatherings are a very professional production and an excellent marketing opportunity.

Through KCA VP David Moss, Steptoe & Johnson has been able to reserve the October 23^rd “Homecoming” game and we have been graciously paired with Consol Energy as our co-sponsor for the day. I believe this will be tremendous opportunity to have an entire day of interaction with Consol Energy who is one of our largest clients. Also the KCA will be attending the tailgate festivities and will provide an additional 2 tickets to the game for any of our guests that may require them.

The cost of the sponsorship is $1,000 which will entirely go to the University of Kentucky’s Mining & Engineering Department. They will set up the tailgate, provide all of the food and beverages, assemble the massive tailgate tent, and provide cleanup and breakdown after the game.
