Charleston, W.Va. - Steptoe & Johnson PLLC attorney Kathy G. Beckett has been named a Fellow of The American College of Environmental Lawyers. Fellows are elected by their peers for distinguished experience and high standards in the practice of environmental law. Only 20 attorneys nationwide were selected as Fellows in 2017.
Beckett joined Steptoe & Johnson in 2013 and brought more than thirty years of experience to the firm’s environmental and regulatory law team. Beckett has earned a reputation for her ability to develop and influence state and national environmental regulatory programs. She serves on the board of directors of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and leads its Energy, Clean Air and Natural Resources Policy Committee. She also serves on the board of directors of the West Virginia Chamber of Commerce and chairs its Environmental Committee.
Beckett earned her law degree from West Virginia University and her bachelor’s degree from the University of Kentucky. She is named among The Best Lawyers in America® for 2018.
All of the Fellows were officially inducted into the College at its annual meeting in October 2017.
