BRIDGEPORT, W.Va. – The employees of Steptoe & Johnson raised more than $40,000 for relief organization Samaritan’s Purse to assist Hurricane Harvey recovery efforts in the Houston, Texas area.
“Steptoe & Johnson has an office in the Houston area which means some of our employees, their families, and friends were directly impacted by Hurricane Harvey,” said firm CEO Susan S. Brewer. “Our firm family drove the fundraising effort firm wide, and I am humbled by what was accomplished. We knew Houston was hurting and we wanted to help as best we could.”
Steptoe & Johnson has more than 700 employees located in six states. During the month of September, employees throughout the firm’s 13 locations raised funds. The firm’s executive committee voted to match the employee contributions bringing the total donation to more than $40,000 for Samaritan’s Purse.
Brewer continued, “Samaritan’s Purse played a vital role in the recovery effort in southern West Virginia after floods hit there last year. We saw the good work done by this compassionate organization so we knew it was the perfect fit for our support.”
