Steptoe & Johnson attorney Kristian E. White has been chosen as a member of the 2010 class of "Generation Next: 40 under 40." The leadership honorary, which celebrates a select group of men and women under 40 years old who are making their mark as professionals and executives in business, government and volunteer service, is coordinated by The State Journal, a respected West Virginia business publication.
A certified public accountant, White concentrates his law practice in the areas of real estate, energy, commercial transactions and business organizations. In addition, White is a licensed athlete agent in West Virginia and is a certified Contract Advisor with the Canadian Football League Players Association. A summa cum laude graduate of West Virginia University (B.S.B.A.), White went on to earn his J.D. from the WVU College of Law. He is an alumnus of both Leadership West Virginia and Leadership Wheeling.
In addition to teaching a sports law class at West Liberty University, White has guest lectured throughout the State on various topics. This is the eighth year that White organized "The Legal System" presentation for Leadership Wheeling, sponsored by the Wheeling Area Chamber of Commerce. As Chairperson of the Wheeling Symphony Orchestra Personnel Committee, White led a nationwide search for a new Executive Director and as such, negotiated the contracts for the Executive Director and the Music Director of the Wheeling Symphony Orchestra, which performs throughout West Virginia.
White recently concluded six years of service on the board of directors of The Kiwanis Club of Wheeling, Inc., for which he is a past-president, and the Children's Museum of the Ohio Valley, Inc. For the past four years, he has served as president of the Catholic School Advisory Council of St. John Parish School in Wellsburg. In addition, White serves as vice-president on the board of directors of Elmhurst, The House of Friendship, Inc., and worked on its $5 million expansion project.
White will be recognized in May at the "Generation Next: 40 Under 40" reception, which celebrates a select group of men and women under 40 years old who are making their mark as professionals and executives in business, government and volunteer service.
