Representative Experience

  • Defended a major new source review permit issued to a public university against a citizen suit challenge that Ohio EPA did not properly establish Best Available Control Technology (BACT). Had the citizens group been successful, the university would have potentially had to install additional pollution controls, costing millions of dollars
  • Jury trial on behalf of board of education where severely-injured student sought damages for injuries sustained while skipping class
  • Defended board of education at jury trial for failing to address complaints of student-on-student harassment.
  • Jury trial for local board of education against claims of mistreatment of special needs student.
  • Federal jury trial for school board in high profile litigation alleging sexual discrimination by high school teacher against student.
