After being appointed as a representative under a Medical Power of Attorney or as a Health Care Surrogate for an incapacitated patient, people appointed as the representative or surrogate often do not know what they can and cannot do. Our firm, in cooperation with the Law and Medicine Committee of the West Virginia State Bar, produced a publication to guide these surrogate decision makers.
Click here to download the publication. A brochure containing the text is also available through the West Virginia Center for End-of-Life Care under the subheading Medical Power of Attorney Duties.
We hope you find this helpful.
