Steptoe & Johnson’s National Labor Relations Act (NRLA) Team represents major corporations with employees in actions before the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB). Our NRLA attorneys have significant experience in defending clients in matters that include union election law, unfair labor practices, and violations of the Wagner Act.

Our NRLA team attorneys have a keen understanding of NRLB rules and regulations and a long history of favorable NRLB decisions.

REPRESENTATIVE EXPERIENCE
  • Assisted employer in resisting union organizing campaign
  • Represented employer in a suit against a labor union for unlawful picketing and conduct at a power plant
  • Assisted employers with various issues under the National Labor Relations Act, including union organization and unfair labor practice charges
  • Counseled employers on a variety of state and federal employment laws, including the ADA, FMLA, FLSA, OWBPA, WARN, and NLRA

  • Handled union elections in the wood products, aluminum products, chemical, retail, health care, natural gas, coal and hospitality industries
  • Obtained state and federal court injunctions for illegal strike activity in the chemical, tire manufacturing, coal, natural gas, trucking, wood products, and aluminum products industries
  • Represented a major east coast resort in an organizational campaign by the Teamsters
  • Represented a West Virginia electrical contractor in an organizational campaign by the IBEW
  • Represented a mid-size national newspaper chain in several organizational campaigns
