Christina M. Chain

Of Counsel

Christina focuses her practice on energy contracts, mineral title, due diligence, and asset acquisition and management throughout the Appalachian Basin, with extensive experience in Pennsylvania, West Virginia, and Ohio. She assists clients with oil and gas title matters, including reviewing abstracts, preparing opinions, identifying ownership issues, and developing curative strategies.

Prior to joining the firm, Christina was a Title Manager. In that role, she managed asset acquisitions, developed title standards and research processes, analyzed oil and gas leases, drafted deeds and curative documents, and maintained land asset records. She also trains land professionals on Appalachian title research and leasing practices and works with a variety of land management and title platforms.

Her oil and gas career began nearly 20 years ago on a Marcellus Shale Lease Acquisition project in Clearfield County, Pennsylvania. From early years in dusty courthouses to today’s online research experience, she honed her innate attention to detail and developed an ability to recognize the seemingly inconsequential things that can have a big impact. She easily adapts to the evolving parameters of the discipline, embraces advancements, and marvels that there is still always something new to discover.

Outside her practice, Christina is a whitewater kayak enthusiast who is active in a dynamic whitewater community that has a heavy focus on education and safety while enjoying the rivers of Pennsylvania, West Virginia, and beyond.
