Bill Wilmoth Honored by Scouting America Mountaineer Council at Distinguished Citizens Dinner

WHEELING, W.Va. – Steptoe & Johnson PLLC is proud to announce that Bill Wilmoth has been honored by the Mountaineer Area Council of Scouting America as the 2025 Upper Ohio River Valley Distinguished Citizen.

The award, presented at the Distinguished Citizens Dinner (DCD) on November 6, celebrates individuals and organizations that provide outstanding leadership and education in local communities. The DCD is an important fundraising event which supports Scouting America programs in the Mountaineer Area Council which covers 22 counties in West Virginia and eastern Ohio. Steptoe & Johnson was recognized as a corporate honoree in 2019.

Wilmoth has been with the firm for over 25 years and is the former United States Attorney for the Northern District of West Virginia. He is a current member and past chair of the Executive Board for the Ohio River Valley Council for Boy Scouts of America (BSA) and served twice as Area Vice President for the Central Region for BSA, which covered 17 states.
