Steptoe & Johnson Announces Leadership Changes for Energy & Natural Resources Department

BRIDGEPORT, W.Va. – Steptoe & Johnson PLLC is pleased to announce that Timothy M. McKeen has been named Chair of the Energy & Natural Resources department effective March 1. He succeeds Sharon O. Flanery who has held the position since the department’s formation in 2013.

McKeen most recently served as the Assistant Chair for the Energy & Natural Resources department and was previously the Practice Group Leader for the Mineral Title & Property practice, a member of the firm’s Executive Committee, and the Office Managing Member for the firm’s Wheeling, WV office. His practice focuses on energy law throughout the Appalachian Basin, specializing in title, due diligence, and mineral acquisition. McKeen has previously been recognized as one of the 40 Under 40 oil and gas professionals in the country by the Oil and Gas Investor magazine.

Flanery is a nationally recognized leader in energy and natural resources law. She will serve as Energy & Natural Resources Department Chair Emeritus. In this role, Sharon will continue to manage her active energy practice including client relationship management, lead strategic initiatives, and continue her service as Chair of the Advisory Board for the Institute for Energy Law and as Vice Chair of the WVU Alumni Board of Directors.
