This sit-down dinner event will take place at the Bayou City Event Center, located at 9401 Knight Road in Houston, Texas, beginning at 6:30 pm Central Standard Time. The evening’s festivities will include honoring our founding members for their service and dedication to the organization and the awarding of the first ever Spirit of WEN award for the individual, project, team, or company that has demonstrated an exemplary dedication to advancing women in energy. The evening's keynote presentation features a three person panel discussion regarding the future of women in the energy industry moderated by the Candace Beeke of the Houston Business Journal and featuring Renu Khator, President, University of Houston and Chancellor, UH System; Redia Anderson, Chief Diversity and Inclusion Officer for BP Americas; and, Anne Taylor, Vice Chairman and Managing Partner for Deloitte.

Renu Khator oversees a four-university system with 60,000 students, an annual budget exceeding $1.6 billion, and a $3.8 billion impact on the region. During her tenure, UH has been designated as a Tier One university. Other achievements include a $1 billion campus construction program, highlighted by the new TDECU Stadium, and the creation of an Energy Research Park, which promises to elevate UH to its rightful place as the world’s “energy university” in the “energy capital of the world.” She holds master’s and doctoratal degrees in political science from Purdue. A member of numerous boards, she is Deputy Chair of the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas and Chair-Elect of the American Council on Education. Redia Anderson the Chief Diversity Officer for BP Americas and is also founder and Managing Partner of Anderson People Strategies, LLC, a management consulting and executive coaching firm that is committed to talent optimization, leadership excellence and organization effectiveness. Nationally recognized as a leader in the field of Diversity & Inclusion, Ms. Anderson has more than 25 years’ experience in Human Resources and Diversity management. Her previous executive roles include serving as Chief Diversity Officer for Deloitte & Touche USA and Chief Diversity Officer for Equiva Services. Ms. Anderson is the author of Trailblazers, How Top Business Leaders Are Accelerating Results Through Inclusion and Diversity and she is also a nationally recognized speaker on issues of diversity and inclusion. Anne Taylor serves as vice chairman and managing partner of Deloitte’s Gulf Coast energy practice, which includes nearly 1,700 people. With more than 25 years of experience as a management consultant, she is responsible for developing Deloitte’s presence in the marketplace, connecting the Deloitte team to client needs and the community, and implementing Deloitte’s people strategy. Ms. Taylor serves on the Board of Directors and Executive Committee of the Greater Houston Partnership, Central Houston, and Junior Achievement of Southeast Texas. She serves on the Board of Directors of the Center for Houston’s Future, and the Board of Trustees for the United Way of Greater Houston. She is also a member of the Texas Business Leadership Council.
