Kelli Smith is an energy attorney focusing on the meticulous world of mineral title. Her work, in a variety of shale plays, is the foundation for oil and gas companies to secure the right to drill. Smith drafts title opinions, spots issues, tracks down missing landholders and their heirs, and provides clients with a mineral title that ensures their right to drill. Additionally, Smith has been instrumental in the execution of transfer of both developed and undeveloped mineral holdings for a variety of energy companies. Having been a landman, Smith is knowledgeable in the business impact, as well as operational impact of due diligence projects. As a former journalist, Smith views her work as telling the story of the property from generation to generation and from one owner to the next.
