Belongings of firm co-founder Louis A. Johnson given for preservation and research

BRIDGEPORT, W.Va. - Steptoe & Johnson PLLC has donated a collection of artifacts from the life of firm co-founder Louis A. Johnson to the WVU Libraries and the West Virginia and Regional History Center.  The donation includes photos, newspaper and magazine articles, handwritten letters, and other items of significance from Johnson’s service to our nation as a soldier and statesman.

“We are excited to mark West Virginia Day with this donation,” said Steptoe & Johnson CEO Susan S. Brewer.  “Louis Johnson was one of our state’s most accomplished citizens, and we are proud to be able to preserve his memory and life of service in this way.”  The items donated will be preserved, digitized, and made available to researchers throughout the U.S.

The artifacts were part of the WVU Libraries and WVRHC West Virginia Day celebration and exhibit, titled “Justice for All; Law and Lawyers in West Virginia,” commemorating the role the legal profession has played in the state’s history.
