PITTSBURGH, PA – Nathan S. Catanese has joined the law firm of Steptoe & Johnson PLLC as Of Counsel. He joins the firm’s Business Department, focusing his practice in the areas of estate planning, estate and trust administration, charitable giving, tax-exempt organizations, and other tax matters.

Catanese assists clients with wealth succession planning and advises nonprofits and religious organizations in formation and governance matters. He frequently counsels clients with planned charitable giving and provides assistance in the creation of private foundations.
Prior to private practice, Catanese served as a law clerk to the Honorable Nora Barry Fischer of the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania. He also gained tax and business public policy experience as a legislative assistant in the U.S. House of Representatives.
He earned his law degree from Notre Dame Law School, his Master of Laws in taxation and a certificate in estate planning from Villanova University School of Law, and his bachelor’s degree from the University of Notre Dame.
