Biography

Brent focuses on a diverse range of areas, including general litigation, workers’ compensation defense, employment and labor law, business compliance and contracts, insurance defense, commercial litigation, real estate, and health care compliance and audits. He provides guidance to clients across all stages of litigation and manages cases from intake to final resolution, negotiating, mediating, and securing settlements and case resolutions.

He served as a judicial intern for Judge Burdette, Chief Regional Circuit Judge of the Cumberland Region and the Chief Circuit Judge of the 28th Judicial Circuit as well as for Kentucky Court of Appeals Judge Irv Maze.

  • Secured a judgment upholding the dismissal of claim in a matter of first impression regarding the compensability and required proof for a COVID-19 workers’ compensation claim
  • Secured a favorable judgment for client in a matter of first impression concerning whether credit unions may act as public depositories
  • Successfully defeated multiple comprehensive motions to dismiss and secured a favorable settlement in a complex matter involving title to real property, breach of contract, and inverse condemnation
