Genevieve Redd is an experienced trial attorney that protects family business assets in Orphans’ (Probate) Court, U.S. Tax Court and before the Internal Revenue Service (IRS). She focuses her practice in complex tax, trust, fiduciary and estate litigation, as well as large business and international tax solutions. When she is not in court, she helps families stay out of court with estate planning, tax compliance planning, and succession plans for both local and international families and their businesses. Genevieve guides corporate and partnership tax clients through tax controversies and dispute resolution. Her extensive experience includes contested guardianships, estate administration and litigation, simple and complex wills, powers of attorney contests, living wills, and revocable and irrevocable trusts. She also helps clients develop and execute sophisticated estate plans to reduce tax liabilities.
With certificates of advanced study in Civil Litigation and Tax Law from the University of Pittsburgh, Genevieve is adept at protection planning, corporate and partnership taxation, income tax matters, and management succession for individuals and businesses. In addition to her role at the firm, Genevieve is a faculty member with the Pennsylvania Bar Institute, the National Business Institute, and the Chicago Bar Association, where she lectures on a range of topics, including long-term care planning, estate planning and administration, special needs trusts, and federal tax legislation and regulation.
Previously, Genevieve was a senior attorney with the Office of Chief Counsel of the IRS where she litigated federal tax cases in the United States Tax Court and worked with Assistant U.S. Attorneys and the Department of Justice (DOJ) on federal civil tax matters.

- Served as the lead attorney in multiple jury trials that reached verdict
- Successfully defended Agent under Financial Power of Attorney against allegations of mishandling funds, self-dealing, undue influence, and through compelled accountings
- Successfully defended Executor against Estate Administration Contest involving allocation of retirement assets, real estate, and personal property.
- Successfully removed Executrix in Estate Administration Contest where family farmoil, gas and mineral rights,and tax liabilities were mismanaged through a closely held family business
- Guided three generations through the allocation of a 21+ year old estate administration with business, tax and real estate consequences and kept them out of litigation
- Guided multi-state construction company through succession and tax compliance plans for failure to pay and failure to file IRS notices discovered while transitioning the business to the next generation
- Successfully defended Taxpayers through Voluntary Disclosure Program proceedings related to reporting international bank account, trust, real estate, crypto, bonus depreciation and insurance issues in both Europe and the Caribbean
- Successfully obtained Emergency Guardianship following an involuntary commitment (or “302” Proceeding), and eventual estate, trust and tax planning for mental health, drug and alcohol issues
