Kodie focuses his practice on complex commercial litigation and business disputes. He represents clients across a broad range of industries, including oil and gas, construction, commercial real estate, private investments, banking, wind energy, aerospace, franchising, health care, insurance, and agribusiness. His experience spans business dissolutions, breach-of-contract claims, fiduciary-duty disputes, fraud and RICO claims, trade secret and noncompete litigation, patent infringement, and wind rights disputes.
Within his practice, Kodie represents businesses, business owners, shareholders, partners, and investors in matters including pre-suit negotiations, arbitration and appeals, obtaining temporary restraining orders and temporary injunctions, handling evidentiary hearings, briefing dispositive motions, and leading arbitration proceedings. He works closely with clients to develop practical litigation strategies that protect their business interests and efficiently resolve disputes.

Representative Experience
- Successfully drafted and argued a response to a motion to dismiss a fraud claim in the Delaware Chancery Court related to an unsecured purchase agreement that led to a favorable settlement for clients
- Obtained a favorable settlement for a general contractor in a construction defect case
- Successfully drafted a response to a Motion to Dismiss a RICO claim brought by radio stations based on a novel theory for broadcasting a paid advertisement on behalf of a known fraudulent actor to obtain settlement from radio stations for defrauded investors
- Obtained an order granting spoliation inference in Dallas County in a trade secret misappropriation case and successfully defended the order to the Court of Appeals for the Fifth District of Texas at Dallas
- Excluded plaintiffs’ key expert witness and won defensive summary judgment dismissing all claims against clients in a partnership dispute and subsequently defended the orders to the Dallas Court of Appeals
- Negotiated a favorable pre-suit multimillion-dollar settlement related to misappropriation of funds
