Megan R. Knell

Biography

Megan Knell leverages her extensive knowledge and insights in the energy industry to help clients negotiate and close transactions, including the acquisition, development, and disposition of oil and gas interests. She advises on both the buy and sell sides of energy transactions for exploration and production (E&P) and midstream companies, mineral buyers, and mineral and surface owners. Megan has represented clients in connection with various oil and gas plays including the Eagle Ford, Haynesville, and Barnett Shales, and the Permian Basin in Texas and New Mexico.

Due to her representation of clients on both sides, Megan understands the concerns and priorities of all parties involved in oil and gas transactions. Her unique perspective allows her to anticipate and efficiently address points of contention and resolve issues that could potentially threaten or delay a transaction.

Megan also has experience helping clients with the negotiation of oil and gas leases, easements, surface use agreements, and surface waivers, as well as preparing drilling, acquisition, and division order title opinions.
