Sam Shinoda

Biography

Hisamitsu (Sam) Shinoda represents property owners’ associations (POAs) in corporate matters including drafting and amending governing documents, assisting in assessment collections and deed restriction compliance enforcements, and assisting POAs navigating options in the event of a property owners’ bankruptcy filing.

Sam reviews the needs of clients ranging from single-family residential, condominium, mixed-use, and commercial associations and assists their Boards of Directors in answering issues of potential liability and helps to draft policies compliant with statutory requirements for each individual organization. He engages in litigation on behalf of clients including filing, responding to, and attending dispositive motions.

Sam’s ability to develop connections with clients and bring a unique approach to their legal needs is influenced by his personal background. He was born in Japan, speaks Japanese fluently, and was raised primarily in Singapore before completing his education in the United States. He then pursued his undergraduate degree and law degree in the United States before establishing his professional career in the United States. His adaptability, focus, and determination provide him with the skills that are helpful and valuable to the work that he does.
