Biography

Marissa Nortz counsels her clients in the often complex and ever-changing landscape of federal and state environmental regulations. Her clients, often municipalities, public service districts, and industrial companies, call on Marissa when they need help with environmental permitting and compliance for their water and wastewater, solid and hazardous waste, air emissions, and other environmental and regulatory needs.

Following in the footsteps of her father, a West Virginia coal miner, Marissa has adopted a boots-on-the-ground approach to addressing the needs of her clients, and never hesitates to put on a hard hat to visit with clients onsite. This approach allows Marissa to work closely with her clients to understand all aspects of their operations so she can address and truly understand the goals and objectives of their operations.

Marissa’s hard hat mentality allows her to work directly with state and federal environmental agencies on behalf of her clients. Whether its planning a new capital project, completing permitting applications, representing her clients during public hearings, or advocating zealously before state and federal administrative boards or courts, Marissa is instrumental to ensuring that her clients achieve the best results from to start to finish.
