Charleston, W.Va. – Steptoe & Johnson PLLC attorney David M. Flannery has been reappointed by the U.S. Secretary of Energy to serve on the National Coal Council (NCC) for the 2018-2019 membership term.
Flannery joined Steptoe & Johnson in 2013. He focuses his practice in the areas of environmental, regulatory, and energy law. Flannery regularly represents clients in state and federal courts in environmental and enforcement matters, and advises clients on compliance with federal and state environmental regulations. He is a founding regent of the American College of Environmental Lawyers and a commissioner to the Ohio River Valley Water Sanitation Commission. As a Federal Advisory Committee, the NCC examines coal-related policy matters and provides advice and guidance to the U.S. Secretary of Energy.
