Emily Rector Joins Steptoe & Johnson’s Morgantown Office

Morgantown, WV – Emily Rector has joined the Morgantown office of Steptoe & Johnson PLLC as an Associate. She joins the professional liability and energy litigation practice groups in the firm’s Litigation Department.

Rector has a background in complex commercial litigation, representing clients in both state and federal court. Rector has substantial experience with securities and shareholder litigation, as well as consumer protection litigation. She was previously a litigation associate at a global law firm and a Law Clerk for Judge Joseph R. Goodwin of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of West Virginia and Judge Mary Beck Briscoe of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit.

She earned her law degree from Cornell Law School, where she graduated cum laude and was an editor of the Cornell Law Review. Rector earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of Charleston.
