Mary Frances Gardner Joins Steptoe & Johnson’s Columbus Office

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Mary Frances Gardner has joined the Columbus office of Steptoe & Johnson PLLC as an Associate.  Her legal practice will focus on labor and employment, the firm’s national Occupational Safety and Health Administration practice, and higher education law. 

Gardner joins Steptoe & Johnson after serving as assistant compliance director and Clery Act coordinator for The Ohio State University Office of University Compliance and Integrity.  She was the leader of the University’s Clery Act compliance program and partnered with University leaders to ensure Clery requirements were met.  She also served on the University’s District Safety and State Authorization Advisory Committees. 

Previously, Gardner served as a law fellow in the office of the President at Michigan State University where she developed the University’s code of ethics after extensive research. 

She earned her law degree from the Michigan State University College of Law and her bachelor’s degree from The Ohio State University.
