Former In-House Counsel Strengthens Firm’s Energy Team

CHARLESTON, W.Va. – Steptoe & Johnson PLLC is pleased to announce that oil and gas industry attorney Sandra K. Fraley has joined the firm’s energy team.  Fraley has extensive experience in upstream oil and gas exploration, production and transactional matters, and related litigation across multiple oil and gas basins – skills that are critical to meeting the needs of Steptoe & Johnson’s energy clients.

Fraley joins Steptoe & Johnson after a career with Chesapeake Energy Corporation where she served as assistant general counsel, lead counsel, and eastern division managing attorney. At Chesapeake, Fraley led a team of attorneys and support staff delivering legal guidance and support for oil and gas operations across multiple basins.  Prior to joining Chesapeake, she was the vice president, land and legal, and general counsel for Enervest Operating, L.L.C. as well as vice president and general counsel for Equitable Production Company.

Fraley earned her law degree from the University of Kentucky and her bachelor’s degree from Eastern Kentucky University.
