Devon Alt

Biography

Devon Alt helps clients navigate and resolve business disputes in the construction, manufacturing, and energy industries. He focuses on breaches of contract and helps defend creditors and debtors by issuing demand letters, filing complaints, and filing mechanical liens on properties. Additionally, Devon has worked on commercial lending agreements and has a background in real estate, commercial transactions, and public finance.

Devon also has experience assisting with royalty and title litigation and acquisition of mineral, coal, and oil and gas rights within summary proceeding matters and partitions. He was previously a summer associate for Steptoe & Johnson.

Representative Experience

  • Represented a large energy services contractor, successfully recovering most of a contract balance owed for completed work for installation of methane extraction facilities, reaching a global settlement across seven different project sites and the subsequent successful litigation of the debtor’s breach of the global settlement agreement
  • Represented a manufacturer and producer of railroad construction equipment in a breach of contract action regarding nonpayment for products delivered, successfully recovering the contract amount
  • Assisted in drafting commercial loan agreement documents for the lease of a building complex pursuant to multiple government services administration contracts
