Biography

Luke Helms builds his practice on the knowledge that each day and client interaction present a new learning experience. In his litigation practice, Luke works as an advisor to his clients and strives to comfort and strategically plan with them during their complex litigation issues. Luke is adept at writing persuasively and regularly drafts motions and pleadings. Clients rely on Luke to help them understand the impact of legal matters they face during the course of their work. In his free time, Luke likes to travel, having been to 19 countries, and has gained a love for cooking.

Representative Experience

  • Act as outside general counsel for a general contractor, specializing in commercial and multi-family roof replacement and repair
  • Represented high net worth trust in a contentious litigation matter that included allegations of conspiracy, wire and mail fraud under the Colorado Organized Crimes Act
  • Secured low dollar value settlement in a high dollar value matter, with potential damages between $30 million and $50 million
  • Represented large financial institution in a $10 million foreclosure, with an effort to protect collateral, including $2 million – $3 million of livestock
