Steptoe & Johnson Continues Strategic Growth in Pittsburgh with Addition of AmLaw 100 Veteran Litigator Jerry Stubenhofer

PITTSBURGH – Jerry Stubenhofer has joined the Pittsburgh office of Steptoe & Johnson PLLC as a Member in the Litigation department. Stubenhofer is the eighth attorney to join the office since the start of the year, reflecting the firm’s continued investment in its growing western Pennsylvania presence.

With more than 30 years of experience, Stubenhofer is widely recognized as a formidable trial attorney and trusted legal advisor. Before joining Steptoe & Johnson, he was a partner in an international Am Law 100 law firm, where he represented clients in complex commercial litigation. His cases frequently involve alleged breaches of varied commercial contracts, including distribution agreements, franchise agreements, and non-competition agreements. Additionally, he has represented employers in virtually every type of unlawful employment discrimination claim. Stubenhofer has successfully argued before multiple circuits for the U.S. Court of Appeals, as well as the Pennsylvania Supreme Court and the New York State Supreme Court, Appellate Division, First Department.

In addition to his private practice experience, Stubenhofer served as the Senior Vice President, Chief Legal Officer, and Secretary for a multi-billion dollar publicly traded retail corporation and was an integral part of the management team that took the company public in 2011 when it was ranked the number one initial public offering of the year based on price appreciation.

Stubenhofer earned his law degree from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law and his bachelor’s degree from Allegheny College. He is licensed to practice in Pennsylvania.

Stubenhofer’s arrival comes as Steptoe & Johnson’s Pittsburgh office continues its strong trajectory of growth.
