BRIDGEPORT, W.Va. – Steptoe & Johnson PLLC welcomes five Associates who joined the firm during the second quarter of 2026: William “Stone” Begley, Gianna M. Dixon, Thomas D. Krapp, Jennifer L. Therazin, and Lauren M. Weigand. Three of the Associates joined the Energy and Natural Resources department, and two joined the Litigation department.
Begley focuses his practice on professional liability matters in state and federal courts and is based in the firm’s Louisville, KY, office. Before joining Steptoe & Johnson, he was an Assistant Commonwealth’s Attorney in Bowling Green, KY. He earned his law degree from the University of Kentucky J. David Rosenberg College of Law, his master’s degree from the University of Kentucky College of Public Health, and his bachelor’s degree from Centre College.
Dixon focuses her practice on energy contracts and due diligence and works from the Southpointe, PA, office. She drafts mineral leases, joint operating agreements, and other transactional documents. She also has experience in civil litigation involving Pennsylvania land use and zoning law. She earned her law degree from Duquesne University Kline School of Law and her bachelor’s degree from Pennsylvania State University.
Krapp focuses his practice on energy contracts and due diligence and is based in the firm’s Pittsburgh, PA, office. He assists with mineral leases, joint operating agreements, division order title opinions, and other transactional documents. He also supports title review and the preparation of client memoranda on mineral law issues. He earned his law degree from Elon University School of Law and his bachelor’s degree from the University of Pittsburgh.
Therazin focuses her practice on complex commercial litigation and business disputes and works in the Collin County, TX, office. She has represented clients in matters involving breach of contract, breach of fiduciary duty, fraud, tortious interference, toxic tort, products liability, and premises liability. She earned her law degree from Emory University School of Law, her master’s degree from Florida State University, and her bachelor’s degree from the University of Florida.
Weigand focuses her practice on energy contracts and oil and gas title review and is based in the firm’s Pittsburgh, PA, office. She assists with lease interpretations, federal oil and gas leases and transfers, and research involving mineral law and regulatory issues. She earned her law degree from Duquesne University Kline School of Law and her bachelor’s degree from the University of Pittsburgh.
